Everything you need to know about eSIM
What's an eSIM and how does it work?
An eSIM is a digital SIM that's already installed in a device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. It's quick to set up, easy to use, and entirely digital so it's kinder to the planet than a physical SIM card.
If your device is eSIM-compatible, you can create multiple profiles with different eSIMs. Each profile will have its own phone number and data plan.

Is my device compatible with eSIM?
The quickest way to check if your device is compatible is to dial *#06#. If you're shown an EID (eSIM unique identification number) your device is compatible.
You can also use our Device guide page. Just choose your device, then Specifications and scroll down to SIM. If eSIM is listed, your device is compatible.
How does it work?
After registering for your eSIM, you'll receive a QR code - you just need to scan it to start setting up.
Scan QR code
You'll receive an email with a QR code to get started. You'll need to scan the code with the camera on your device.
Choose eSIM
If you have a SIM card installed in your device, choose which SIM to use for your data and default number. You can choose the Vodafone eSIM for both - this can be changed anytime.
That's it - your eSIM is set up!

Trialling our network?
Follow these instructions to set up your dual SIM.
1. Download the My Vodafone app
Log in with the username and password you created when you signed up. The app will prompt you to install your eSIM.
2. Customise your SIM settings
First, choose your original SIM as your default line for calls and messages. Then, choose your trial eSIM for mobile data. Remember to toggle on data switching.
3. After the trial is over, switch back to your original SIM
Go to Settings > Mobile Service (for Apple) or Network and Internet (for Android). Choose your original SIM as your default for mobile data again.
